Client: VP of Quality, Safety and Environmental Affairs

          Major Healthcare Company


Need: The desired outcome was for all three compliance groups to seamlessly integrate with each other and assure alignment with all 5 marketing organizations and all manufacturing and QA/QC operations worldwide. The client reported directly to the CEO, who was primarily interested in “competitive compliance” – absolutely assured compliance so the CEO could “sleep at night” and yet remain competitive in the market. 


Project: The engagement involved process and program design, coaching, custom survey design and implementation, training, facilitation, feedback sessions, goal setting at all levels.  Four vice presidents were directly involved.  A custom survey was created and administered to over 500 people including the CEO (92% response rate), training all 50 people in the three groups to facilitate focus groups and feedback sessions. And, finally, creating mission, vision and goals at all levels aligned with all internal customers. 


Outcome: Alignment at all levels, including involvement and commitment was achieved within 9 months from inception of the project. All parties were extremely pleased with the results.

Client: Director Organizational Development


Need: Orientation and chartering sessions for 10 newly reorganized global teams.


Project: Partnering with the Director OD and corporate OD, created and delivered a series of two day programs. Coaching was supplied to team leaders as appropriate.


Outcome: Smoother transition to new operating model. Each team had a clear understanding of the new organization model, and more important, knew their mission, vision and roles and responsibilities on the team.

Client: Client: Sr. Director Outsourcing


Need: Educate all Clinical Research decision makers in context and methodology for structuring and executing contracts with outsourced firms. Educate the same audience in managing the outsourced relationships effectively in a partnership.


Project: With a consulting organization, created two training programs and delivered to all key individuals. Faculty for each session included a senior member of a preferred provider.


Outcome: Less time was spent in outsourcing creating and editing contracts. Less time was believed to be spent negotiating. Expectations were clearer and conflicts diminished over time.

Client: Sr. Director Outsourcing


Need: Brief (1-3 day) Kickoff/chartering meetings for large complex global clinical drug trials.  Each day delayed for approval was valued at over $1 Million in many cases. 


Project: Create a framework and facilitate kickoff meetings for trials deemed to be of that value. A core team was assembled for each trial, including consulting capacity. Key stake holders were interviewed and a meeting customized to cover Medical, Ethical, Business, Process and Contingency.


Outcome: All clients were very satisfied with the results, evidenced by requests for additional work and projects.

Client: CEO of major healthcare company


Need: The CEO was clearly champion of the organization’s value document. He wanted to assure all employees worldwide were aligned with all four aspects of the company’s credo and understood the relevance to current business values and needs.


Project: For over 18 months, Barry worked on a team of four to create the process, survey review, training, implementation and communication for use throughout the global organization.


Outcome: The long term value of the program is evident by numerous improvements and changes made at all levels including one being that this survey process still exists, some 22 years later and is administered to over 120,000 people on an annual basis.
